WHAT IS SUCCESS?

WHAT IS SUCCESS?

You can use most any measure

When you’re speaking of success.

You can measure it in fancy home,

Expensive car or dress.

But the measure of your real success

Is the one you cannot spend.

It’s the way your kids describe you

When they talking to a friend!

TAKE TIME .. TO THINK... TO PLAY.... TO READ

     TAKE TIME

Take Time to THINK… it is the source of power.
Take Time to PLAY… it is the secret of perpetual youth.
Take Time to READ… it is the fountain of wisdom.
Take Time to PRAY… it is the greatest power on earth.
Take Time to LOVE and BE LOVED… it is a God-given privilege.
Take Time to be FRIENDLY… it is the road to happiness.
Take Time to LAUGH … it is the music of the soul.
Take Time to GIVE… it is too short a day to be selfish.
Take Time to WORK… it is the price of success.
Take Time to DO CHARITY… it is the key to heaven..

1.      COACH  (Your commander, chief or mentor)  Have you chosen the appropriate coach to teach you proven strategies?  Are you coachable?

  1. COMMITMENT  ( Token commitment is like the egg to the chicken  as total commitment is like the ham to the pig.  Which one do you possess, token or total?  You know what happens to casual people?  They become the first CASUALTIES  when tough times come?)

  1.  CLOCK  (Even a dead clock is correct twice a day!  Many people are dead at 35 but are buried at 70!)

  1.  COMPANY  (Choose your companions/comrades you keep!  Some guru admonished his students “Tell me who your friends are and I’ll tell you who you are!”)

  1.  COMMUNITY  (Decide which city, country or country  where you want to live.  Environment and culture are  contributory factors to your growth and happiness).

  1.  CHURCH (Not a cult.  Spiritual, not necessarily religious,  nourishment is necessary to control the weaknesses of the body.  Mental and spiritual well-being are equally important like food, air and water).

  1. CRUSADE  (Causes are important to keep your passion burning. Socrates said that an unexamined life is not worth living for)

  1.  CONCERNS  (Your predominant thoughts and regular affirmation are the oxygen of your dreams.  What you think quite often, you will become. Your subconscious become the auto pilot to your chosen destination. That’s the law of the farm, the natural laws of the universe).

  1. CHARACTER (Your credibility. Nobody can build that except yourself! Your reputation precedes you.  People smell your real intentions miles away.)

  1.  CONTACTS (The friends/mentors  you call regularly. The two primary factors to help you become what you conceive to become are the PEOPLE you associate with and the BOOKS you read and apply the lessons learned).

LIFE BEGINS AT ANYTIME

LIFE BEGINS AT ANYTIME

By Banna Tiran

IT IS THE AWARENESS OF LIFE’S OPPORTUNITIES WHICH WILL KEEP US YOUNG,  JUST AS IT IS THE LACK OF AWARENESS OF THE SAME POSSIBILITIES WHICH WILL MAKE US OLD.

EVERY HOUR HAD ITS LIFETIME.  THERE CAN BE A NEW BEGINNING EVERY MOMENT.  LIFE BEGINS AT ANYTIME AND STOPS ACCORDING TO WHAT WE DO WITH IT.

WE BEGIN   A  DAY. WE BEGIN TO SPEAK. WE BEGIN TO LEARN. YET FOR ANY ONE OF US WHO BEGINS SOMETHING TRULY SPLENDID FOR OUR LIFE, TEN OF US ARE RETREATING.

“LET ME BE”  WE OFTEN SAY TO LIFE.  BUT LIFE HAS A WAY OF NEVER LEAVING  US ALONE. LIFE ALWAYS GIVES US SOMEONE  TO SPARK OUR LIVES IN SERENDIPITY.  AT EVERY TURN  IT PITCHES CHALLENGES, AND AT EVERY AGE,  OUR REACTIONS ARE OF OUR OWN CHOOSINGS.

EACH  OF US CAN BE CHILDREN AGAIN IN THE BEST SENSE.  IF LIFE DOESN’T SEEM TO SURPRISE US OFTEN ENOUGH WITH WONDERS, WE CAN STILL CREATE WONDROUS SURPRISES OF OUR OWN.  THE RESULTS OF WHAT WE DO NOW ARE THE BEGINNINGS OF WHAT WE DO NEXT.

LET US THEN WELCOME CHANGE, JUMPT RIGHT INTO THE MIDDLE OF SOMETHING  WE  THINK  MIGHT BE GOOD FOR US, EVEN  IF SUCH  THOUGHT SETS OFF EARTHQUAKES IN OUR BONES!

SOME DAYS  IT’S NATURAL TO FEEL UNSETTLED.  WHEN EVERYTHING WE USED TO THINK WAS SOMEWHERE  ELSE,  WE CAN ALWAYS CHOOSE TO BEGIN AGAIN!

WINNER VS. LOSER

WINNER   VS.  LOSER

          The Winner  -  is always a part of the answer;
The Loser –  is always a part of the problem.

          The Winner – always has a program;
The Loser – always has an excuse.

The Winner – says “Let me do it for you,”
The Loser – “That’s not my job.”

          The Winner – sees an answer for every problem;
The Loser – sees a  problem for every answer.

          The Winner – sees a green near every sand trap;
The Loser – sees two or three sand traps near
                                                                 every green.

The Winner – says “It may be difficult but it’s
                                                                       possible.”
The Loser – says “It may be possible but it’s
                                                            too difficult.”

ARE YOU A WINNER?

EMPOWERING THOUGHTS : A N Y W A Y by Kent M. Keith

A N Y W A Y
The Paradoxical Commandments
Finding Personal Meaning in a Crazy World
By Kent M. Keith
(Made more famous by Mother Teresa)

People are illogical, unreasonable and self-centered.
Love them anyway.

If you do good, people will accuse you of selfish ulterior motives.
Do good anyway.

If you are successful. You will win false friends and true enemies.
Succeed anyway.

The good you do today will be forgotten tomorrow.
Do good anyway.

Honesty and frankness make you vulnerable.
Be honest and frank anyway.

The biggest men and women with the biggest ideas can be shot
Down by the smallest men and women with the smallest minds.
Think big anyway.

People favor the underdogs but follow only the topdogs.
Fight for a few underdogs anyway.

What you spend years building can be destroyed overnight.
Build anyway.

People really need help but people may attack you if you do help them.
Help people anyway.

Give the world the best you have and you will be kicked in the teeth.
Give the world the best you have anyway!

ATTITUDE

A T T I T U D E

The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life.

Attitude, to me, is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than successes, than what other people say or do.

It is more important than appearance, giftedness, or skill.

It will make or break a company… a church.. . a home.

The remarkable thing is that we have a choice every day regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day.

We cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way.

We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have and that is our ATTITUDE…

I am convinced that life is ten percent what happens to me and ninety percent how I react to it. And so it is with you.

We all are always in charge of our own attitudes!

EMPOWERING THOUGHTS - from Charles Chapman

EMPOWERING THOUGHTS
(Being shared with all my friends .. . . Ernie Delfin)

“You cannot bring about prosperity by discouraging thrift. You cannot help the wage-earner by pulling down the wage-payer. You cannot further the Brotherhood of Man by encouraging class hatred. You cannot help the poor by destroying the rich. You cannot keep out of trouble by spending more that you earn. You cannot build character and courage by taking away man’s initiative. You cannot help men permanently by doing for them what they could and should do for themselves.”
The first paragraph of AS I SEE IT, the autobiography of J. Paul Getty
- - -- - - - -- -
“I can liken life before you to that of a ship, its prow pointed towards the great ocean as it leaves the harbor for the distant shore. Storms may come, and they will, for no ship ever sailed the seas but had to face the storm. If it is strong from keel to top, from bow to stern, well maintained and intelligently directed, it rides the storms and goes on its way. So you will meet many obstacles, storms of your life. If you are strong in your faith, clear headed, honest, trusting for divine care and with character built on solid rock you will meet all troubles in life victorious.”

I copied these wordings written in front of the granite statue of Charles E. Chapman, founder of Chapman University, in the said university campus in Orange, California.

“Servicing the needs of others is the only legitimate business in the world today!”

Founder, Bank of America

EMPOWERING THOUGHTS - from Nelson Mandela (Marianne Williamson)

Empowering Thoughts To Live By
(Courtesy of Ernie D. Delfin, an active Rotarian and
Founder, National Foundation For Next Generation)

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate;

Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.

It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us.

We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented
and fabulous?

Actually, who are you not to be?

You are a child of God --- your playing small does not serve
the world.

There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that others will
not feel insecure around us.

We are born to manifest the glory of God that is within us.

It is not just in some of us; it is in everyone.

And, as we let our own candle shine, we consciously give others
permission to do the same.

As we liberate from our own fear, our presence automatically
liberates others.

Authored by: Marianne Williamson
Nelson Mandela helped made this poem more popular in his
inaugural speech in South Africa in 1994)

EMPOWERING THOUGHTS - from Frederick Douglass

“EMPOWERING THOUGHTS”

By Frederick Douglass, freed slaves and Abolitionist (1857)

The whole history of progress of human liberty shows that all concessions yet made to her august claims have been born of earnest struggle. If there is no struggle there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet deprecate agitation, are those who want crops without plowing up the ground, they want rain without thunder and lightning, they want the ocean without the awful roar of its waters! This struggle may be a moral one…. But it must be a struggle.

Power concedes nothing without a demand. It never did and it never will. Find our just what any people will quietly submit to and you have found the exact measure of injustice and wrong, which will be imposed upon them, and these will continue till they are resisted!
